Kids to Parks Day

May 17th is a great day to bring your kids to Weir Farm NHP! The Friends of Weir Farm will join the National Park Trust’s Kids to Parks Day of celebration to encourage kids and families to visit local, state, and national parks. Stop by the Friends of Weir Farm tent from 1 to 4 pm for an afternoon of special Junior Ranger activities. Earn a Junior Ranger Badge by completing one of the fun activities. Create your own Junior Ranger hat. While you are there, hike to the pond! Take Part in Art using free art supplies to borrow and create your very own work of art! It is sure to be a great day at the park.

All activities are free. No registration required – just stop by for some family fun.

Artist-in-Residence Open Studio

Join us each month from May thru October for an Open Studio from 11 am to 12:30 pm in the Artist-in-Residence Studio, 735 Nod Hill Rd, Wilton, CT next to the visitor parking lot. Come meet the artist, view and discuss their artwork – it’s informal and artsy! The Friends of Weir Farm will offer light refreshments and a fun art activity for children at this year’s Open Studios.

Pop-In Art Nature Journaling with Leslie Carone

Summer Impressionist Painting Workshop with Dmitri Wright

Artists of all skill levels are encouraged to sign up for this wildly popular Impressionist Painting Workshop with Master Impressionist Instructor Dmitri Wright! Registration will open for this program on May 15 and information about how to register can be found on the park website. The park will not accept advance registrations. Preference is given to new attendees and registration is otherwise first come, first serve. This workshop is for ages 16 and up. Participants under 18 must be accompanied by a parent/guardian. This program is made possible through the generous support of the Friends of Weir Farm.

Registration is required and opens May 15, 2025.  Be sure to sign up now.

Connecticut’s Historic Gardens Day

Sunday, June 22, 2025 • noon to 4:00 pm

Weir Farm NHP, 735 Nod Hill Road, Wilton, CT

Weir Farm’s four historic gardens and art will be the focus of the Connecticut’s Historic Gardens Day celebration at Weir Farm NHP. The gardens are great places to enjoy the flora, paint, or draw. Visitors can spend an afternoon painting en plein air (using the Park’s free-to-use watercolor supplies) in a landscape that has inspired artists for over 140 years. The Friends of Weir Farm tent will have free activities for all ages and light refreshments. Several of the park’s dedicated Garden Crew volunteers will be on hand to answer questions about the history, flowers, restoration, and ongoing preservation of Weir Farm’s four historic gardens.

Free. No registration required – just stop by and smell the flowers!

Take Part in Art – Informal Instruction in Watercolor and Landscape Painting with Bobbi Eike Mullen
