Help Wanted!

Volunteers are the life blood of any organization. All volunteers at Weir Farm National Historic Site and Friends of Weir Farm have the opportunity to work with a friendly, fun and motivated group of people who share a passion for preserving and promoting Weir Farm.

Plus there are perks! Annual volunteer trainings, educational volunteer field trips and behind-the-scenes volunteer enrichment opportunities are just some of the benefits offered to volunteers.

Park Volunteer Opportunities

Most volunteer opportunities occur from May through October. Hours are flexible and can accommodate your availability on weekdays (Wednesday to Friday) or on weekends.

  • Studio Docent - Welcome and assist visitors in interpreting the Weir and Young Studios.
  • Garden Gang - Help maintain the park’s historic gardens, with the guidance of Master Gardeners.
  • Take Part in Art - Assist with art and education programs that encourage visitors to discover their inner artist by sketching or painting outside with art supplies provided by the National Park Service.
  • Trail Monitor - Monitor trails and report on current trail conditions.

Friends Group Volunteer Opportunities – We need you!!

We have short-term and year-round opportunities to volunteer. Let us know how you would like to get involved.

  • Membership outreach and development - Help us expand our circle of friends.
  • Park Ambassadors - Attend local community events and reach out to civic groups to strengthen community connections and publicize park activities and initiatives.
  • Fundraising - Seek support from individuals, local businesses, and corporations to support park programs and enhance the visitor experience.
  • Marketing and Publicity - Are you a writer? Communicator? Have expertise in design, website management, or social media? Help spread the word about our great work and its value to the park.
  • Database Management - Good with detail? Like to work behind the scenes? Help us to build capacity in an area critical to our success.
